A second visit to a script years later does in fact yield different results. My interests in the set focused much more on the relationship between father and daughter and the idea of memory. What items are forgotten or left behind when we leave this world? What things can still tell a story? The ever present sound of water dripping inspired the other-worldly lights hanging in the space, and the steel structure was meant to fade away in the vastness of the Underworld. The umbrella also became a recurring motif representing shelter, safety, protection.
