You ever have that feeling after a show is produced that you'd like another crack at it to tweak some things? I got that opportunity when I designed the costumes for two different productions of this show in a 12-month span. Some helpful contextual things shifted in this version, like my assistant stage manager looking for her Salt 'n' Pepa CD (as opposed to the script prescribed AC/DC) and her look is heavily influenced by the 80s musicians. I had a very young actor playing an aging butler so giving him poorly done grey hair helped set the tone for his chaotic dishevelment. Florence Collywood in this version went more ditz than vamp - my apologies to all blonds. A fun romp, even the 2nd time around. For more about the set design click here.
