As a 30-something romantically-single person, Significant Other hit pretty close to home for me. Much of the design was filtered through my lens of online dating profiles and social media. We craft those little squares and answer those little one liner questions so carefully that we're focused on the minutae of our lives, rather than looking at the big picture, much like the main character of Jordan. The giant grid floor is nearly too close to be deciphered by the audience but by zooming out a bit we can see it's actually the actor playing Jordan's face, broken up by Instagram squares.
