Lisa Borton

The play itself feels deceptively casual - it follows seven women over the course of 48 hours while they navigate working and living on a naval base in the north of Scotland. Of course the topics covered are deep and varied, and I wanted the set to feel gritty and help illustrate the age of a Nissen Hut that hadn't been used since the first World War some twenty years prior. The space feels lived in and has a variety of personal affects from each of the women who live there. For more on the costume design click here.
